Serves: 48

Ingredients:

¼ Tsp cloves

½ Tsp salt

1 Tsp cinnamon

1 Tsp soda

2 Tsp lemon zest (grated)

¾ c of butter

½ c of honey

½ c of unsweetened applesauce

1 c of Dark brown sugar (packed)

1 c of Quick oats (not instant)

1 c of 6-oz raisins

1 c of fresh apple (peeled and chopped finely, 1 medium-sized)

2 ½ c of flour

1 large egg

Topping:

½ c of Quick oats

Procedure:

1. Prepare oven by preheating it to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Get a medium-sized bowl. Mix oats, cinnamon, flour, lemon zest, salt, cloves and soda. Combine thoroughly and set aside.

3. Put butter and sugar in a large-sized bowl and cream them using an electric mixer. After creaming, add applesauce, honey and egg then beat it at moderate speed until mixture turns smooth.

4. Add fresh apple, raisins and flour mixture to the bowl and mix it at low speed until batter is well combined. At this point, the dough should be quite soft.

5. Spoon about a tablespoon of the batter and drop by onto baking sheets (ungreased). Make sure each drop of mixture should be 1 and a half inch apart.

6. Sprinkle quick oats to the cookies if you want.

7. Bake the cookies for about 23-25 minutes or wait until cookies turn golden brown.
